Introduction
Member of ICS research line: Cooperation in Social and Economic Relations
I graduated at the Sociology Department of Warsaw University (Poland). My main interests at that time focused on mathematical and statistical models in social science and, substantially, on problems of social inequality.
My Master's Thesis, which I defended in June 2003, was a comparison of two statistical modeling approaches to categorical data: log-linear models and models of information structure. To pursue my other interests I also studied Musicology for one year.
Before I have came to Utrecht I was affiliated with large-scale survey projects in Poland. 
First, with the Polish General Social Survey at the Institute for Social Studies at the Warsaw University which is a repeated cross-sectional survey inspired by the U.S. General Social Survey. Later on, with the POLPAN panel study at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of Polish Academy of Sciences. POLPAN is a 4-wave panel study conducted in Poland since 1988.
In August 2005 I started my PhD project The Role of Heterogeneity in the Dynamic Networks at the ICS at the Utrecht University.

Introduction
In my research project I investigate mechanisms through which various forms of heterogeneity between actors influence the dynamics of the network of relationships between them. The developed theories will be applied to the dynamics of inter-firm cooperative relations, i.e. strategic alliances and joint ventures. The project is a part of the Utrecht University High Potential Program Dynamics of Cooperation, Networks, and Institutions coordinated by Vincent Buskens and Stephanie Rosenkranz.
