Ercolie Bossema (1976) is a teacher and researcher at the department of Clinical and Health Psychology of Utrecht University. She is very happy to work in the research group Psychorheumatology of Prof. Dr. Rinie Geenen (http://members.home.nl/r.geenen/). Ercolie is married to Ed, they have two wonderful daughters: Robin and Marit.
In 1999 Ercolie succesfully finished her studies Cognitive function disorders (Neuropsychology) and Health psychology at Utrecht University. In 2005 she defended her thesis 'Effects of carotid endarterectomy on cognitive functioning and perceived health' at this university. Until 2007 she was a post doc researcher at the project 'The development of a decision tool to help rectal cancer patients determine the type of surgery they prefer' at the departments of Medical Decision Making and Clinical Oncology of the Leiden University Medical Center. Until 2008 she participated in the development of an internet course to prevent migraine (www.mymigraine.nl).
Introduction
Ercolie is co-promotor of Ninke van Leeuwen, MSc, at the project ‘Fatigue in patients with Sjögren’s syndrome and non-Sjögren sicca syndrome’ and of Cécile Overman, MSc, at the project ‘Psychobiologicals. The role of cytokines in fatigue and depressed mood in patients with rheumatoid arthritis’. In addition, she assists in wiriting new research projects (including 'Suitable work for patients with fibromyalgia' in cooperation with the Dutch Fibromyalgia Association FES and 'Motives for sperm donation' in cooperation with Rijnstate Hospital in Arnhem) and writes articles within the field of Psychorheumatology and other topics of health psychology.
Ercolie is a member of the SWORA (Sociaal Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek bij Reumatische aandoeningen) and the NHPR (Nederlandse Health Professionals in de Reumatologie) division of the NVR (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Reumatologie).
